Hello
from Texas. Thanks for
stopping in to check out my website.
I’m
a long-time reader of novels which eventually led to my career in
writing them. Since I’ve
been married to my own personal Cowboy for more than 35 years and I love
reading about those times when a man was rough and ready and aiming to
please, it was only natural for me to write about the kind of women it
takes to love such men. So,
most of my career has been spent writing historical romances.
I’m now trying my hand at a mainstream.
Wish me luck. As a kid, I discovered books could change my life and take me places I could only dream of going. I haunted my local libraries and pestered librarians for tales of the Wild West. Nothing was more thrilling to me than the men and women who lived their heroic adventures, then rode into the sunset to live happily-ever-after. My
journey to become a writer started with a dream I had of the Palo Duro
Canyon in the Texas Panhandle one night in the summer of 1982. I
didn’t sell the first novel I wrote.
In fact, it’s under my bed growing baby spiders.
Still, that first book taught me to write and love the craft of writing.
Most of all, it taught me that it takes a lot of persistence, luck, and
opportunity to achieve a dream. But now, years later, I’ve published several historical
romances with such houses as Crown/Pageant, Berkely/Jove,
Dorchester/Leisure, Barbour Publishing, and Kensington/Zebra.
Best of all, I’ve worked with some of the best editors in the
field and made some great friends and fans along the way. Some
of you may recognize me from the “Dee Pace” years as first reader
for the Kirkland Literary Agency, a technical editor for SAGE, or as an
elementary school librarian. I’ve
worn lots of hats in the literary field, all
of them stemming from a tremendous respect and love for books of
EVERY kind. I’m proof positive that it takes a lifetime to become what you are meant to be. For me, that became an advocate of novels. I hope you enjoy reading my books. I sure love writing them for you. |
